MMCE Bus Trip 2025

Ever since our last adventure in 2023, everyone’s been eagerly waiting for the next MMCE Bus Trip – and this summer, it finally came together again! 💫

Dreamt up by Ansarikka, organized by Assad, and with Faris arranging the bus, the 2025 edition took us south to the stunning natural beauty of Waterton for a fun-filled Saturday–Sunday escape. For the second time, we nearly filled a 50-seater — because it’s never just about the destination, it’s about the journey and the people you’re with.

We hit the road early Saturday morning, and our first scenic stop was Lundbreck Falls. The roaring falls and dramatic views made for the perfect welcome to southern Alberta — lots of group photos, videos, and excited energy.

By afternoon, we reached Red Rock Canyon in Waterton, where the bright red stone and flowing water gave everyone a second wind. Some hiked, others explored nearby trails, but everyone soaked in the beauty.

But the real highlight? Our overnight stay.

We stayed in a beautifully renovated home that once was a 121-year-old Mennonite church, originally located between Cardston and Lethbridge. Now transformed into a warm and inviting residence, it sits on a peaceful horse farm, nestled amidst rolling fields with a gentle stream winding through and mountain views all around. The setting felt straight out of a postcard — serene, timeless, and full of character. As if it couldn’t get more magical, we even spotted deer by the stream, quietly passing through and adding a touch of wonder to the already breathtaking scene.

Some of us stayed in the cozy rooms inside, while others camped in the backyard. We reheated potluck meals, gathered outside with chai and puff pastries, and watched the sunset paint the sky — one of those calm, unforgettable moments.

As if that wasn’t enough, we were joined by the kind owners of the farm, who shared the fascinating history of the house and how it came to be in their possession. They even let us — and the kids — feed and ride the horses, taking turns with huge grins and bigger memories.

As night fell, the vibe shifted to cozy storytelling, with classic ghost stories and that nostalgic feeling of being with cousins during a family sleepover — all the noise, laughter, and cheerful chaos making it even better.

Sunday morning, we packed up and made a quick stop to explore Waterton town, grab a few more photos, and stretch our legs before the long drive home.

The kids complained the trip was too short (always a great sign!), and for the adults, it was a refreshing escape from the everyday routine.

For all of us, it was something more — a weekend filled with connection, laughter, and core memories made together.

Here’s to more adventures, more buses, and more MMCE moments. Until next time! 🚌✨
