Onam 2022 was a landmark celebration for the MMCE community — the biggest and most joyful Onam we’ve had to date! Held with great enthusiasm and participation, this vibrant event brought together families, friends, and neighbors for a day rich in tradition, delicious food, and unforgettable fun.
What made this year’s celebration truly special was the incredible spirit of community collaboration. Our amazing MMCE ladies took the initiative to organize a potluck-style Sadya, with each person volunteering to prepare a dish. The result? A truly authentic, flavorful, and heartwarming feast that tasted even better knowing the love and effort behind it.
The event was packed with a lively lineup of performances and traditional games. Energetic dance performances lit up the stage, showcasing talent and cultural pride. Children and adults alike joined in the fun with a range of activities, from the ever-popular tug of war to other playful competitions that had everyone cheering and laughing.
Beyond the food and festivities, what stood out was the sense of togetherness. Onam 2022 wasn’t just about celebrating a festival — it was about celebrating each other. The laughter, music, and shared memories reminded us why we gather, and how traditions become even more meaningful when shared as a community.
