By 2018, MMCE was blossoming. What started as a handful of families had grown into a close-knit, thriving community. That year was marked by more frequent gatherings—summer outings that filled parks with laughter, Eid celebrations that brought warmth and joy, and countless shared moments that wove us even closer together.
One standout memory from that year was the oppana performance by the women of our community. It wasn’t just a dance—it was a beautiful expression of culture, tradition, and unity.
Performed during WFG’s Kerala flood relief fundraiser, it captured hearts and reminded everyone of the strength and grace that defines our community. It was a moment when our community stood up for something bigger. Through music, movement, and solidarity, we helped raise funds for those devastated by the floods back home. It was a powerful reminder that even from afar, we could make a difference—together.
2018 was more than just another year. It was a reflection of how far we had come—and a glimpse of how far we could go, when community and compassion lead the way.
